Red Velocity mission is to deliver a visually creative, cutting edge, powerful product to our clients in an efficient manner that meets and exceeds all of our clients needs for their specific project. The Red velocity team is proud to own and operate a Red One Camera package. Yes, Red velocity owns the same camera used to shoot blockbuster movies like Book of Eli with Denzel Washington, Knowing, with Nicolas cage, and District 9.
Red Velocity also uses a Jimmy Jib, Apple Macintosh Final Cut Pro edit suites, and a fully equipped grip truck. Red Velocity works with you, our client, to accomplish your goals for your company and your project with great attention to detail and quality.
Owner & President
Steve Mason began his career is creative media back in 1991. he has served as a director/and camera operator since 2003. He spent over a decade as a sportscaster WDBJ-7, a CBS affiliate in Roanoke, VA while also honing his director of photography skills. He is married to the lovely Melissa Mason and they have three children. Zach, Abby, and Joseph.

Our video production company is located in Roanoke, Virginia. Since 1997, our team has been creating, shooting, editing and producing short films, music videos, corporate commercials, half hour made for television specials, public service announcements, web based virtual tours for colleges, and documentaries in Africa, India, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Central America. Our corporation is equipped with a Director, a Director of Photography, script writer, and a post production editor. Red Velocity is housed inside a larger production house fully equipped with an animation team, five edit suites, a talent agency, and a grip truck.
Red Velocity has won numerous awards. Our latest work, “the Bloody Writing is for ever torn” , a film about a meeting in Ghana, in Africa among scholars from all over the world that revisits the abolishment of the Atlantic slave trade 200 years ago. This film has already won The Aegis award, the Aurora award, and the AVA award an is being shown a the Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA. Media Concepts has also won three addy awards representing Western Virginia.
